They showed up nearly 2 weeks after their scheduled start date. I was told repeatedly that they would be at my home on various days, only for them to never show up. I had already requested a refund before they ever arrived due to them not showing up to start the job and was told they would be there the next day and that if they weren't, we would get our deposit back. Once on-site, things went wrong quickly. They dropped their ladder into my pool twice and used it over the pool in a way I considered unsafe. When we raised safety concerns with the owner via. Phone, as he wasn’t on-site, I was assured everything was fine by a worker who was on site. They were supposed to return the following day and never showed — then came back two days later around noon. Shortly after, a worker was seen drinking my liquor in my lanai and I felt that it would be reckless and unsafe to allow them to keep working given that I don’t know if they were all drinking and given what I consider to be unsafe practices. I informed the owner that I did not want any additional work done unless he was present on-site. He said he would have them pack up and that he would handle it — but the lanai was left in worse shape than when they started and in an unsafe condition. They removed fasteners from the structure and never reinstalled them and tore multiple screens leaving my lanai in an unsafe condition. I had to pull out my ladder and taped an aluminum brace to one next to it so that it didn’t fall down and hurt anyone or damage anything. After repeatedly asking when he would come out, after asking for a refund if he couldn’t complete the job in a reasonable time and after expressing concerns about the condition and safety of the lanai, the owner went silent — until it was mentioned that we had contacted an attorney. He then responded back and apologized, acknowledge the late arrivals and the incident with his worker drinking our alcohol, accepted full responsibility, and offered a full refund of our deposit. However, in the following message he asked that we agree in writing that the refund would resolve all matters before he would process it. Given that the lanai was left structurally unsafe with missing fasteners, we were not able to agree to that. It was made clear that we expected a full refund immediately and had already scheduled a contractor to inspect the lanai and provide an estimate on the repairs and any damage that may have resulted from his crews work. In addition, we told him that if the inspection confirms that no incorrect work was performed and no new damage was caused by his employees / guys that worked on our lanai — and provided the lanai sustains no further damage prior to repairs being completed due to the fasteners that his guys removed and never reinstalled — We are willing to release him and The Lanai Guys from any personal or business liability related to this project. As of now, we haven’t heard back from the owner and haven’t received a full refund.

Blaize and his crews were nothing, but professional, did a great job and he is so funny too. Our Lanai was quickly replaced and Blaize walked me through every part of any questions I had and I’m kind of the hands on type so I asked the questions/and concerns I had and he addressed every one of them showing he clearly knows what he is doing and he was knowledgeable. He even gave me some good advice about my pet tortoise, which was an even over the top bonus! Lanai Guys I was overly impressed with and not because he happened to have a tortoise himself. They were 5 stars with me beforehand and I’m sort of a pain in the ass.
