The food was great. The service was great! Diamond was our server and she was very attentive. I ordered the salmon salad. It was very fresh and prepared perfectly. My husband had the redfish sandwich. It was so full-on flavor with fresh bread and toppings. The fries were great too. The cocktail list look fabulous, I plan on trying one next time. So glad we stopped here for lunch!
Ocean Ave Bar & Kitchen was recommended to us by some of the locals we met the day prior. We went here for lunch and dinner. Our server Diamond was very nice and attentive when we came here fore lunch. We had a myriad of questions which she answered to the fullest. Lunch: For drinks we ordered the Berry Melon Bubbly and the Spicy Margarita. The Berry Melon Bubbly was refreshing and on the skinny side of drinks, which we appreciated much. We weren’t a fan of the spicy margarita as it lacked a little on the spice and the tajin rim wasn’t able to make up for it. But we were happy that it was also on the skinny side and not heavy on the sugar level. For appetizer we ordered the grilled Octopus with Walnut Romesco, Arugula, Tomato, Kalamata Olives, Fingerling Potatoes, and grilled Fennel. For the main meals we we ordered the Rock Shrimp Chowder with Corn, Pancetta, Potato, Onion, Poblano, Chives, and Fried Saltine with a Cesar salad, as well as the Blackened Redfish Tacos with Mango Salsa, Cabbage Slaw, Green Onion, Baja Sauce, and Cotija. The grilled octopus was amazing. Only on one other occasion have we enjoyed octopus that is so tender, that you can cut it with a fork! The remainder of the dish was complementary to the main star (octopus). The walnut romesco paired well with The potatos and was a nice contrast to the freshness of the overall dish. The Rock Shrimp Chowder was another well balanced dish. We were a little concerned the pancetta might tip the scale of the salt level, but the chef did an amazing job keeping that contained and well balanced. The generous amount of shrimp was also surprising. The Blackened Redfish Tacos were very good. The fish was fresh, moist, flaky and well seasoned. The homemade corn tortilla was light and holding together nicely without breaking apart. Dinner: We came back for dinner. Our server was great. She was very attentive and had to walk us through their specials a few times since only one of us was paying attention every time she did. Her patience was truly tested and she handled it with grace. For drinks we ordered the Berry Melon Bubbly again, as well as the smoked s’mores old fashioned. The Berry melon bubbly didn’t turn out that well this time around and looked nothing like the one we had during lunch. Consistency with the drinks between whoever is behind the bar at lunch and dinner is off. The smoked smores old fashioned was good and a great desert drink. For the appetizer we ordered the Buratta with Heirloom Tomato, Microgreens, Basil Oil, Balsamic Glaze, Toasted Baguette. For the main course we ordered the Swordfish with Asparagus and glazed herb carrots. And the house burger. The buratta was nice and creamy and the tomatoes had a nice meatiness to them. We found ourselves struggling a little with the toasted baguette as it was reaaaaally hard. More like a tough coffee biscuit. The swordfish was fresh and moist with good grill markings. We ended up fighting over the dish and sharing it. The burger came with a side of hand cut fries. I feel the fries could have been elevated with a garlic & rosemary or truffle drizzle. All in all: 5 stars for service. 4 stars for food and drinks (inconsistency with the drink from lunch vs dinner and brick like baguette). 5 stars for ambiance.
Had several fantastic meals here during our recent beach vacation - we are officially regulars. By far (!!) the best food, atmosphere, and dining experience in the Singer Island area. Delightful servers, best mocktails we've ever had, got the tuna poke bowl multiple times, homemade tortillas for the tacos, beautiful ambiance with gorgeous sea life murals - it was fantastic.
The coconut curry mussels were SOOO good—super unique & delicious, I’m still thinking about them 😂 The menu mentioned crispy naan but it came with crispy baguette instead. The outdoor seating was really nice & the service was great—super friendly. The beach is walking distance very convenient spot with plenty of parking. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in Florida & try more!
We came to Ocean Bar & Grill two days in a row because it was THAT good. The oysters were fresh, the drinks were amazing, and the overall atmosphere made us want to keep coming back. A huge thank you to our server, Justin, for making both visits such a great experience. He was attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and gave excellent recommendations every time. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customers having a good experience. If you’re looking for great seafood, good drinks, and top-tier service, definitely come here. We’ll absolutely be back again.
