My first time visiting Greenville, South Carolina and staying at The Westin Poinsett was truly one of the best travel experiences I've ever had! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with outstanding customer service. A special thank you to Ms. Jay, Melody and the entire front desk team for being so warm, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. They answered all of my questions thoroughly and made me feel right at home. The valet team and housekeeping also exceptional, they were prompt, courteous and provided outstanding service throughout my stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of history, which made the experience even more special. My room was clean and comfortable, and the bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! I had some of the best sleep I've had in a long time. The food was excellent and I loved that everything in downtown Greenville was within walking distance. It made exploring the city so convenient and enjoyable. Overall, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. The service, accommodations, location, and hospitality were all top-notch. I highly recommend The Westin Poinsett to anyone visiting Greenville. I will definitely be back!

My wife and I chose the Westin Poinsett Hotel for a weekend getaway to celebrate her birthday, and I honestly couldn’t have picked a better place. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated. The check-in experience was smooth and friendly, setting the tone for a wonderful weekend. The valet team was exceptional—always greeting us with a smile, opening doors, and having our vehicle ready promptly whenever we needed it. Their kindness and professionalism never went unnoticed. Each morning we enjoyed breakfast at Spoonbread Restaurant, and it was one of the highlights of our stay. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff provided outstanding service that made us look forward to coming back each morning. I also want to recognize the housekeeping team. Our room was impeccably clean every day, and it was obvious they took pride in their work. Coming back to such a beautiful, spotless room after spending the day exploring made our stay even more relaxing. What truly sets the Westin Poinsett apart is its people. Every interaction, no matter how small, reflected genuine hospitality and a commitment to making guests feel special. They helped make my wife’s birthday celebration one we’ll always remember. Thank you to everyone at the Westin Poinsett for creating such a memorable experience. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to our next visit. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and true Southern hospitality.

The hotel is in a fantastic location right in the heart of downtown Greenville which more than makes up for any property shortcomings. The reception staff was moderately welcoming but the room service staff really stood out, and was wonderfully friendly and attentive. The common spaces were lovely, though our standard room was on the small side which we expected given that it's a historic building. It was also quite dark. While the room was very clean, it could definitely use a little love in the near future (chipping paint on the moulding and door frames, dated switches and lose outlets, etc.). The one thing that proved a major annoyance was the thin bedroom door which resulted in a lot of hallway noise making it difficult to fall asleep. Overall our stay was fine but by no means exceptional.

As an interfaith wedding rabbi and officiant, I have had the privilege of celebrating weddings at many wonderful venues, and The Westin Poinsett Greenville is one of those rare properties that combines historic grandeur with the warmth and hospitality that make a wedding truly memorable. Originally opened in 1925, The Westin Poinsett has long been a landmark in downtown Greenville. Its beautifully restored architecture, elegant public spaces, and timeless design create an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. The hotel's rich history is evident throughout the property, yet it remains perfectly suited to contemporary celebrations. What I especially appreciate is the hotel's sense of place. Located in the heart of Greenville's vibrant downtown, it allows couples and guests to experience one of the South's most charming and walkable cities. Family and friends can enjoy the restaurants, shops, parks, and attractions nearby, turning a wedding into an entire weekend experience rather than a single-day event. From a ceremony standpoint, The Westin Poinsett offers a wonderful blend of elegance and intimacy. The grand ballrooms and event spaces provide the classic beauty many couples seek while still creating an environment where guests feel connected to the ceremony and celebration. The result is a wedding that feels both refined and deeply personal. I also appreciate the level of hospitality that comes with a property that has welcomed guests for generations. Weddings involve countless details, and there is tremendous value in working with a team experienced in creating seamless events while ensuring that couples and guests feel genuinely cared for throughout the celebration. For couples seeking a venue that combines historic charm, timeless elegance, exceptional service, and the unique character of downtown Greenville, I am delighted to recommend The Westin Poinsett Greenville. It is a venue where Southern hospitality and classic sophistication come together beautifully.

I stayed at the The Westin Poinsett, Greenville for two nights beginning May 19, 2026. For a hotel charging $350+ per night and positioning itself as one of the premier hotels in Greenville, the experience fell well below expectations. On May 20, I left my room early at 7:00 AM for business meetings and returned around 8:45 PM to find that my room had not been serviced at all. The bed was unmade, towels untouched, trash still there, and no housekeeping had been done whatsoever. At first, I assumed maybe I accidentally left the Do Not Disturb sign on. I checked and I had not. I then thought perhaps I had somehow opted out of housekeeping. I went downstairs to the front desk and was told I had not opted out. What was most disappointing was the response from the front desk employee. I explained that my room had not been cleaned, and instead of any apology or acknowledgment, she simply asked if I needed extra towels. I again asked why the room had not been serviced, and she repeated the same question with no explanation, concern, or accountability. It came across as though this happens regularly and nobody seemed particularly bothered by it. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a hotel responds when they do. At this price point and reputation level, I expected significantly better service and professionalism.
