Very lovely converted theatre that was previously a gaol. The play Priscilla Queen of the Desert was amazing and everyone of the 950 audience would have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Positive Review – Ticket Office Team A big thank you to the ticket office staff at the Bendigo Ulumbarra and Capital Theatres for your professional, caring, and friendly service. Over the last few years, you’ve made booking wheelchair-accessible seating for my mother simple and stress-free, always helping us secure the best seats and offering thoughtful advice. A special thanks to Anthony, who went the extra mile on our latest booking to ensure we didn’t miss out on tickets despite limited availability. Your support makes it possible for people with mobility challenges to continue enjoying the theatre—thank you and keep up the excellent work. Michelle Glanville
Great experience watching Bluey in the theatre. Amazing old prison building that they have converted so great to see the old history as well as a show.
Ulumbura theatre is an old jail of Bendigo and is a part of the proud culture. A wonderful performing arts theatre with beautiful interiors and state of the art acoustics. Attended my daughters end of year school celebration there years ago and this time attended my kids citizenship ceremony there. A wonderful experience and the way they maintain and manage it, commendable. Got a nice cafe and has plenty of parking around.
Saw the Shrek musical here, the musical was very nice and cute, loved the actors and costumes would recommend going if they come around again just dont choose this location, go to the city or anywhere else. Nothing went terribly wrong, my first time in bendigo and now my last. there is something truly sinister and evil about this place, they flaunt the old cells like it’s something quirky and fun. you will read this and think im crazy but nothing is normal about bendigo, there is truly some wicked energy in that area, especially that old jail. But the entirety of bendigo is…off. it needs to be completely abandoned, other entities live there and within people there….
