I am extremely concerned about a dangerous incident involving a City of Virginia Beach Public Works vehicle that I witnessed in broad daylight near Town Center, directly across from Princess Anne High School and Starbucks. The driver of the public works truck ran a red light and nearly t-boned my vehicle. Instead of stopping, they continued driving recklessly—running another red light, making a left toward the interstate, and never slowing down. This level of negligence from a city-operated vehicle is completely unacceptable and puts the public at serious risk. What makes this even more alarming is that just one week later, another tragic incident occurred in the same Town Center area where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and sadly went into cardiac arrest and passed away. Situations like this highlight how dangerous reckless driving can be, especially in high-traffic areas. This could have easily been another tragedy. Public Works employees should be held to a higher standard of safety and accountability—not contributing to unsafe road conditions. I do have a photo and the truck number available if the City would like to follow up. I strongly urge the City of Virginia Beach to address this issue immediately before someone gets hurt.
The day that snow, I liv on Salem rd and linhaven parkway. On 2 main roads . It took va.beach roads till 3.30pm to clean the snow. We couldn't make it to work. It is so sad that the city workers they all want to follow each other and they didn't start doing the roads early. The person in charge apparently didn't have a plan.
Had problem with bill. I went to their office to find out answers. Very nice employee told me how to try to resolve my problem and said someone would come check my meter. This was done within the next 48 hrs. Problem is being taken care of.👍
Drivers drive recklessly, start at right turn lane only from the left turn lane at intersection of Independence and Bonney, no use of direction indicators, 2 huge trucks, lots of traffic and went straight. They are not they only ones on the road and should stop driving when it's time to eat.
